Frequently asked questions.
what is your venue’s history and background?
Malvern, Pennsylvania has a rich history dating back to the late 17th century when it was first settled by Welsh immigrants who were drawn to the area’s fertile land and scenic beauty. The town’s name is said to be inspired by the Malvern Hills in England. During the American Revolutionary War, Malvern played a role as a transportation hub, with the Paoli Battlefield (located nearby) being known for the infamous “Paoli Massacre” in 1777. In the 19th century, the arrival of the Philadelphia and Columbia Railroad transformed Malvern into a thriving railroad town. Today, Malvern is a thriving suburban area known for its historic touchpoints, beautiful landscape, and is home to various businesses, embodying a blend of its rich heritage with modern times.
The Blue Heron building is dated to the 1800’s, boasting a rich legacy of various storefronts throughout its 150+ years. Earliest known photographs show it almost unchanged, with horse and buggies on the dirt road, and women in Victorian dresses standing outside. We are honored to continue it’s story!

Our bespoke space is best suited for intimate parties and soirees! (Confetti, glitter, open flames, fog machines, hanging items on walls, etc.) Additionally, we are located in a mixed use area with a resident on the floor above us. With that said, we are asking all music and sound be limited to “dinner party” volume, with no excessive sounds (foghorns, airhorns, popping sounds, etc) that could be a nuisance to the neighbors.
